Characters of the Green Dragon Inn

As the Green Dragon has grown over the years the concepts of character and creature creation have ebbed and flowed right along. In the early days though there were no strict guidelines as to how a creature may be portrayed, it was uncommon to see a hybrid of any sort of generic creature or race. Over the years we have become more worldly, more creative and imaginative in the selection of creatures we chose. Since inception the GDI has been proudly known as a Free Form Role Play site, with emphasis on the Free Form, and in supporting this philosophy we make no stricture or guidelines to what kind of creature you design.

Of course, there are aspects to consider when choosing a specific being to play around the Inn, and many circumstances to evaluate. For example, should you chose to play a 35 foot long Black Dragon without any morphing or shape changing abilities, it is unlikely you will ever get served at the bar. Likewise, should you chose to play an Half-Angel x Half-Vampire, it is unlikely you will ever find the time to ask for a drink as you will be too busy fighting with your split personalities to agree on what to have.

Consider aspects such as size, terrain (no one wants a permanent Kracken in the bathtub), and interaction with others. It is wide known knowledge that the more powerful you portray a character, the more intimidated others become with the style and lessening your opportunity for a fulfilling Role Play experience.

In making these points, we neither attempt to dissuade or encourage specific character types for creation, we merely ask you to consider that which may spoil the fun for you and others and lessen your opportunity for fun here at the Green Dragon Inn.
